Important Update regarding SNAP and DUFB

The Rogue Valley Growers & Crafters Market recognizes the vital role that SNAP benefits play in supporting both our community members and local producers. An interruption in SNAP benefits would create real and immediate challenges for many households who depend on this assistance to access fresh, healthy, locally grown food.

Our markets thrive on inclusivity and connection—SNAP shoppers are an essential part of that fabric. A loss of benefits would not only deepen food insecurity for many families but also impact the small farms and food producers who rely on these sales to sustain their livelihoods.

We remain committed to fostering a market that supports equitable access to nutritious food and strengthens the local economy. Together, we can continue building a resilient food system that nourishes everyone in the Rogue Valley.

Rogue Valley Growers and Crafters Market is deeply dedicated to food accessibility and devotes many staff hours to keeping SNAP access available at our markets as well as participating in additional nutrition boost programs each year such as Protein Match and Double Up Food Bucks (DUFB). You can learn more about the specifics of these currencies under the market currencies tab on our website.

In light of the loss or delay of SNAP benefits for November we have a stop gap in place to at least ease some of the burden of food insecurity in our community.

Double Up Food Bucks (DUFB) will continue and we are releasing additional funds to bridge the gap.

Starting November 1, we will distribute $20 of DUFB regardless of your SNAP benefits balance. To receive DUFB you just have to show your EBT card at the info booth. You may only receive DUFB once per market day. If you have a benefit balance you may also withdraw EBT tokens in $2 increments. Additionally we will issue $10 of Emergency Market Money + $10 of Protein Match which is $40 of market credit/market day regardless of benefits balance.

To make this possible, we need to raise $5,000. If we reach $10,000, we’ll double the amount to $20 per shopper. Your donation goes directly to families buying fresh, local food – every dollar truly makes an immediate and meaningful impact. HUGE thank you to our funder and collaborators at Farmers Market Fund who oversee the Double Up Food Bucks Program! Farmers Market Fund has released discretionary grant funds to cover this program during the month of November and keep our farmers and community members supported with fresh food on their tables. If you are called or able to make a donation to Farmers Market Fund to support their vital work please click here. All donations are tax deductible.
