Freedom Farms is a trauma informed 501 c3 prison reentry organization with farm sites in Gold Hill and Ashland. We utilize the therapeutic experience of gardening and land conservation management to heal and help transition individuals back into the community after the debilitating experience of incarceration. Program participants are given workforce training and development opportunities with wrap around support services and social integration at our weekly farmers markets. At the farmers markets participants get to showcase the produce they grew on the farm, learn the soft skills of sales and marketing and engage positively with the community while reducing stigmas and stereotypes.
